IBS, founded in 1980, after a period of purely commercial activity, focused its energies on research in the field of interventional cardiology. The coronary stent, and everything connected to it, has been and still is the focus of the research activities. Embracing a new theory for the cardiovascular problem approach, the LESS MISSMATCH THEORY, originated from a synergic work of cardiologists and engineers, IBS has given life to a project pipeline which, after realizing 3 stents, will lead to the market launch of 2 additional stents, one passively-coated, the other actively-coated. IBS is present on the market with its Distributors in Italy, Europe and some countries as China and India. IBS offices are in Trieste on the carsic plateau in the Area Science Park, the R&D site. The administrative office is in Milan. IBS is ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certified.
